About me

Hi, I am TJ Guo đź‘‹

I am a sixth-year Ph.D. candidate in Information Systems at the Department of Information, Risk, and Operations Management at the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin. I am fortunate to be advised by Prof. Indranil Bardhan.

My current research interests lie at the intersection of healthcare, AI, and information technology, with a specific focus on developing and evaluating AI-based methods to support the transition towards value-based care delivery.

My ongoing research centers on two areas:

  • Advancing AI methodologies in healthcare by creating interpretable predictive models and value-based prescriptive models to improve patient outcomes
  • Exploring how data sharing and information integration impact healthcare outcomes and operational efficiency.

I hold a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I majored in Computer Science and Mathematical Decision Sciences.

The Statistics Department at UNC has always referred to the undergraduate degree in statistics as “Mathematical Decision Sciences” during my time there, only to rename it “Statistics and Analytics” shortly after I graduated.
